Old school: eyespot from 2004

We build the first online, in-browser video editing and social media application before html5. Back when css was a huge pain in the ass. No frameworks, no javascript libraries. JQuery? Hadn't really come out yet. iPhones? Didn't exist. We build a Brew app on a Motorolla Razr. We grew from 0 users to around a million with a tiny team, securing sharable and mixable content from Lucasfilm– the first license of it's kind on the internet, NBA, lots of cool bands and more. Eyespot won the PC magazine Gold award for best video mixer. Eventually the team was acquired by Sorenson Media. It looks kind of questionable now, but at the time it was very cool. Ah how far HTML5 and design in general has come.
